1st annual showcase
The first ever Dekalb Academy CTAE Showcase was on full view for the public last week, as the school partnered with STEAM Teams to produce a first class affair to showcase the CTAE department and STEAM Teams course work. The event, held in the school’s gym on December 5th, displayed the future of CTAE and abilities of our students in Animation (2D/3D), Digital Media (Film/Photography) and Drones. Partners for the event included the Art Institute of Atlanta, Blender, Universal Phoenix Group, Slush Naturals and Digital Dance Culture.
The students in all CTAE classes were tasked with completing a final project based on rubric to prepare for the showcase. The Digital Media students were also on full display as production crew members for DNN (D.A.T.E News Network), applying their photography and film skills through coverage of the event in the form of interviews, pictures, video footage and social media curations.
The Art Institute of Atlanta held a position the entire day, showcasing and presenting sections about careers and demos in Animation & Film. Tom Biondilillo and French Spencer brought fun and interactive sessions to the students and drove home the possibilities within secondary education and the work force.
